We can create music from anything. Scrap heap drumming enables us to open up our eyes and imagination to the possibilities of the world around us.

Using instruments created from house hold objects we intend to use the sounds of everyday life to write a piece of music unique to every workshop. The instruments range from baking trays and wheelie bins to specially crafted instruments made from bike wheels and old guitars and whatever the group can get their hands on, on the day. The participants in the group will learn about various rhythms and then learn to play them all together, creating a piece of music entirely from scratch and unique to their class.

At the end of the session, when the piece is complete there is the opportunity to make a recording so everyone involved can keep a copy of their creation.
